We have an immediate opening for the position of Junior CAD Engineer and System Designer for Edwards Life Safety and Emergency Communication equipment in the Applications and Professional Services & Solutions Department.

This position is an office-based position in Bradenton FL but may include some travel.

Role Responsibilities

These responsibilities will be mentored and trained during the course of the job with eventual ownership of these tasks.

• Participate in meetings to determine scope of work for creation of system design proposals.
  
• Work with field engineers performing site surveys to gather needed information to allow creation of system design.
  
• Conduct Code Calls with the AHJ to determine system requirements.
  
• Creation of system design drawings using FireCAD.
  
• Creation of submittal packages with an emphasis on details and completeness of information.
  
• Create completion package for systems including as-built drawings, records of completion and other close-out documents.
  
• Provide Engineering services for other related systems including Air Sampling Systems, EASE Sound Modeling software and others.
  
• Evaluate existing systems to determine migration and upgrade paths.

  This entry level position provides services to our customers in the form of:

  • As-built drawings
    
  • Completion documents
    
    
    Customers can be Edwards distributors or other businesses who are facilitating Edwards system designs and installations. System sizes range from small commercial facilities to multi-million square foot facilities.
    
    Required Qualifications
    
    • High school diploma or GED.
      
    • Autodesk Certified Associate (ACA).
      
    • Valid Driver's License.
      
    • Ability to travel up to 10%.
      
      
      Preferred Qualifications
      
      • Bachelor's Degree in computer Aided Design.
        
      • Experience in emergency communication and employee notification system.
        
      • Familiarity with smoke control systems, air sampling systems and sound modeling.
        
      • Experience with products from Edwards and Kidde.
        
      • Organizational Skills.
        
      • Accurate time estimates.
