questions. Top Message The Assistant Director helps lead and manage
a team responsible for brand management, content development,
multimedia productions, advertising, social media, graphic design
and production services to develop and implement marketing and
communication efforts to support recruitment and enrollment for all
campus sites, and support revenue generation by supporting contract
training and the college foundation. This position is responsible
for working with departments across the College to manage their
strategic marketing and communication efforts and supports College
marketing initiatives. This position provides development,
coordination, tracking and budget management of the production of
print, digital, video and other creative services projects, and
serves as the department's liaison for creative and client services
and marketing and public relations support for major College
events. Position Title Assistant Director, Communications and
Marketing Requisition Number PAF018 Job Description Applicants may
be asked to demonstrate any or all of the following duties: 1.
Provides technical and administrative oversight in the day-to-day
operation of Communications and Marketing. 2. Assists the Director,
Communications and Marketing to create and implement integrated
marketing and communication plans designed to create awareness of
the campuses and generate engagement, enrollment and/or revenue. 3.
Manages the buying, scheduling and placement of advertising in
various media formats with vendor account representatives,
coordinates with agency as needed, monitors quality and payment,
collects tearsheets and affidavits of performance, tracks campaign
effectiveness and makes real time changes as needed. 4. Manages the
department's participation in special event projects, which often
take place outside normal business hours, including actively
participating on committees as assigned and directing and
coordinating the event photographer, videographer and other vendors
as appropriate. 5. Provides managerial oversight of the
department's annual production calendar with particular focus on
recurring projects; responsible for maintaining calendar, deadlines
and measuring internal effectiveness. 6. Provides managerial
oversight of the Communication and Marketing ( CAM ) team in
establishing and maintaining departmental processes and procedures.
7. Provides consultation and technical advice for communications,
marketing and advertising for various College wide taskforces and
committees. 8. Provides oversight of outside contractors and
vendors. 9. Develops and completes reports and provides analysis as
requested. 10. In collaboration with the Director assists in
preparing department budget. Monitors assigned accounts and manages
projects to work within budget. Works with executive assistant II
on tracking payments and monitors account balances and works with
vendors on discrepancies. 11. Supervises, coaches and evaluates
communications and marketing staff. 12. Keeps abreast of
communications and marketing trends and recommends changes to the
Director to maintain State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota's
competitive position. 13. Assumes leadership of the Communications
and Marketing Department in the absence of the Director. 14. Works
outside the typical work day to assist media in making deadlines or
supporting the department at special events, including graduation.
15. Serves on College and Department's emergency response team,
including serving as back-up for Director on emergency management
messages (BB Connect) and on the Critical Incident Management Team
( CIMT ) as needed. 16. Performs other duties as assigned by the
Director. Minimum Qualifications ---Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in related field (marketing, journalism, public
relations, English) and five years of professional experience in
advertising, marketing, media or public relations. ---Experience
working with media buying for news media in print, TV, radio,
and/or the Web, and other emerging media and the ability to select
the appropriate media for the message. Exceptional writing skills
in different styles (i.e., reporting, feature writing, expository,
and persuasive). Demonstrated proficiency and resourcefulness in
the use of all media formats, including new media, or social media,
as well as traditional print and broadcast. The ability to think
strategically and meet challenges both independently and as part of
a team and work efficiently in a moderately-to-extremely busy
office environment. Preferred Qualifications ---Supervisory
Experience:
Two or more years of direct supervisory experience including
performance management, training and coaching is preferred. Special
