Title: Vice President, Business Development --Reports to: Sr. Vice President, Business Development --Department: Business Development --FLSA Status: Salary/Exempt Summary/Objective: The Vice President, Business Development is the key member of the business development team focused on prospecting, managing, and establishing partnerships with current and potential clients to find solutions to business and technological challenges that stand in the way of student success and completion. In this role you will use your extensive experience, broad network and consultative selling skills to drive both existing partnerships, as well as establish new partnerships aligned to the strategic goals of the company. This position requires experience with Enterprise Resource Management Systems (ERP). KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Establish relationships with Sr. Higher education leaders (President/Chancellor, CFO, Provost, CIO) to position CampusWorks as the trusted advisor to call when institutional problems are overwhelming today or in the future.
  • Maintain a well-defined understanding of the key business and technology changes in the higher education marketplace with a specific focus on the evolving ERP / SIS marketplace
  • Leveraging ERP / SIS marketplace knowledge lead and engage discussions with Sr. institutional leaders on all aspects of Higher Education business challenges
  • Develop and drive new client acquisition in key Higher Education markets related to ERP / SIS market transitions
  • Negotiate business and contract terms to establish beneficial agreements, that provide client satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate and timely customer, pipeline, and forecast data
  • Understand the competitive landscape and customer needs so you can effectively position CampusWorks
  • Provide support for marketing activities and events
  • Drive lead generation for new territories, higher education segments, and products.

  • You are able to see the big picture for the institution; Listen to the president/chancellor and connect the dots between and among the symptoms that are communicated, the problems that are identified and the goals that must be achieved; ability to zero in on the solution so it is manageable.
  • --You find a way to "Connect" with a president--need to win trust and confidence.
  • You will lead efforts to bring a prospect from inquiry to proposal to discussion and contract.
  • You have no issues with "getting dirty"-willing to commit to CampusWorks' strategic objectives and mission and in so doing travel very frequently; work beyond standard business hours, write, collaborate, present, sing and dance -whatever it takes.
  • You are a hands-on executive that understands that you are in the field closing deals; an aggressive closer.
  • You are a story teller that can share the CampusWorks client successes; persuasive written, oral and presentation skills.
  • You demonstrate a commitment and passion to impact higher education by putting "helping before selling".
  • Your experience that brings credibility.
  • You have the ability to "listen" to what is not being said.
  • Work Environment/Physical Demands:
  • This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some weekend or evening hours may be necessary for travel or in emergency situations. This is largely a traveling role, requiring use of typical office equipment such as a computer, laptop and cell phone. Most work is completed at a client location. Requires travel to and from the client location via auto and/or air. KSA's
    • Driven, intelligent, great at relationships of all kinds, strong business acumen, cultural fit with CampusWorks values, and able to thrive in a x-functional collaborative team environment.
    • Excellent negotiation skills and experience developing and structuring agreements to support business and services objectives.
    • Ability to drive business case development, draft and deliver presentations on strategic initiatives and lead deal negotiations to closure.
    • Outstanding interpersonal, written communication and strong/succinct oral communication skills essential.
    • Willingness to travel extensively.
    • Intelligent, hard-working, ability to understand technical concepts quickly, and willingness to do whatever it takes to get things done.
    • Proven ability in managing complex sales cycles from start to finish with a track record of successful revenue attainment
    • Self-starter attitude with the ability to work in a dynamic environment Education and Experience
      • BA/BS in business, computer science, or other relevant field; MBA is preferred.
