Inspired Living at Lakewood Ranch - Bradenton, FL Position Type Full Time Description We are looking for compassionate individuals who want to support our residents & who complement our hardworking and dedicated teams! Summary/Objective Oversees overall operation of the Community, ensuring the welfare and safety of residents and Associates, through the execution of the company's Mission Statement, company policies/procedures and regulations governing our industry. Manages concerns including, but not limited to, financial performance, maintenance, food service, sales, health & wellness, programming, supervision, training, and dismissal of personnel, and the administrative functions of planning, organizing, directing, controlling and coordinating all activities of the Community in accordance with federal, state and local statutes, as well as the established policies and procedures applicable to the Community Essential Functions 1. Lead Community operations by working with, overseeing and observing each department to ensure the execution of job responsibilities and accountabilities. Assure compliance with and/or develop internal Community policies/procedures, staffing patterns, salary schedules, job procedures and other matters consistent with company philosophy, policies and budget. Ensure the Community meets the Company's established standards, as well as the standards of accreditation established by licensing and certification agencies. Validate licensure and/or certification of personnel ensuring the requirements of state and/or federal regulations are satisfied. Coordinate and work with state social services and state/federal health agencies 2. Assure that established budget guidelines for Community are maintained through the development, implementation and monitoring of budget control and cost containment programs. Implement timely corrections for cost overruns 3. Drive improved occupancy by participating in inquiries and the marketing of the Community. Network with key personnel in hospitals, health facilities, social service/civic organizations, referral agencies, affiliated non-profit organizations, and any other source relevant to referring prospective residents to the Community 4. Assure quality resident care is provided, consistent with the mission of the company, company policies and budget objectives. Prepare reports of surveys, complaints, inspections, patient assessments, audits, fires, disasters, legal problems and any other unusual or non-routine matter. Complete or ensure the completion of resident medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc. Establish and encourage an atmosphere of optimism, warmth and interest in each resident's personal and health care needs 5. Maintains overall responsibility for relationships with families. Regularly meets with families regarding any concerns, needs or questions that may arise regarding our residents' care 6. Maintain privacy and confidentiality of records, conditions and other information relating to residents, Associates, vendors and the business operations of the Community. In coordination with the company's leadership, solicit, review, intervene, report and lead the resolution of complaints and grievances made by residents, families, visitors, agencies, Associates, etc. 7. Ensure proper maintenance of buildings and grounds through the supervision of preventative and corrective maintenance programs. Inventory, identify and monitor the storage of equipment, supplies, etc. Monitor the workplace for possible health and safety hazards, and assist in the development and delivery of routine health, safety and compliance training programs to prevent worker injuries 8. Develop, lead and participate in activities focused on improving quality of service, resident care, Associate job satisfaction and performance, etc. Attend and/or lead staff meetings and assist in identifying and correcting problems. Emphasize quality by demonstrating accuracy, thoroughness and applying feedback to improve performance 9. Show initiative by undertaking self-development activities, seeking increased responsibilities and asking for and offering help when needed. Set and achieve challenging goals, demonstrate persistence, overcome obstacles, and measures overall performance against a standard of excellence 10. Execute assigned job responsibilities in a manner that respects the company, Associates, residents, resident families, vendors and those involved in the successful operation of the Community. Lead others by maintaining a professional demeanor, approaching others in a tactful manner, reacting well under pressure, treating others with respect, accepting responsibility for one's own actions, and following through on commitments. Demonstrate adaptability by adapting to changes in the work environment, managing competing demands and exhibiting the ability to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events 11. Other duties, as assigned Supervisory Skills Directly supervise the directors and managers in the Community. Recruit, hire, and train, new Associates. Oversee daily activities of all Community Associates; discipline and develop the staff to ensure compliance; lead the Community's Associates with a focus on compassionate care, resident satisfaction, Associate satisfaction and operational excellence. Qualifications Travel Requirements Up to 10%, primarily locally, with occasional overnight travel. Works in a well-lighted area that is ventilated and as physically, physiologically and psychologically innocuous as possible under the conditions which exist at any particular time. On occasion, there may be exposure to outdoor spaces, which will, by their nature, have variances in air quality, temperature, walking surfaces, lighting, and other physical aspects. Because the essential functions may require exposure to bodily functions and infectious waste, diseases, odors and other situations Associated with health care, including but not limited to exposure to AIDS, HIV and Hepatitis B viruses involving Risk Classification Categories 2 and 3**, environmental and safety conditions will fluctuate. To be qualified for the position of Executive Director, an applicant/employee will need to possess the ability to work in an environment conducive to caring for residents without posing a substantial safety or health threat to one's self or others. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an Associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Frequent body movements include lifting, moving, transferring, bending (forwards bending), stooping, squatting and reaching. Able to do heavy lifting, pushing, pulling and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds, unassisted, with twisting and turning of the torso. Ability to sit, stand and walk for prolonged periods of time. Certifications, Licenses, Education and Experience and other Special Requirements A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent is required. Preferably, the Executive Director will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration or another relevant course of study with additional training or work experience in a social or health care related field, relevant to working in this position. Relevant work experience, preferably in a senior living environment, where the skills set forth in this description have been obtained. Active unencumbered license to work in the state in which the Community operates, as well as any other training required by the state and the ability to engage in continuing education units required for state license renewal. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency with MS Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. S(he) must be flexible with their schedule and open to being called in for emergencies which may include odd hours, as well as possessing a valid state driver's license.
