Director / Staff PsychiatristPosition Summary:This is a full-time
hybrid position with approximately 20 hours dedicated to direct
client care and 20 hours dedicated to training and supervising
Psychiatric Resident doctors.Staff Psychiatrist - Provides
psychiatric services to Centerstone clients. -Assistant Residency
Medical Director - Fulfills a defined management and leadership
role for a Centerstone sponsored institute program. The Assistant
Residency Medical Director is responsible for managing program
resources to fulfill the program mission in accordance with
priorities, time and budget requirements. The assistant residency
medical director must report directly to the program
director.Minimum Qualifications: -M.D. or D.O degree, currently
licensed to practice in the state of Florida. - Must be Board
Certified in General Psychiatry by the ABPN or AOA. -Preferred
Qualifications: - Three years of educational or administrative
experience. Knowledge of the following applications/websites: ERAS,
NRMP, ACGME. Preferred understanding of the Accreditation Council
for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) requirements for
Institutional, Common, and specialty programs and the accreditation
process.Special Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Computer
proficiency in Microsoft Word, spreadsheets, and presentations.
Excellent research ability.Essential Functions/Job Duties:Staff
Psychiatrist:
- Reports to work as scheduled to ensure adequate staffing to
meet the needs of clients.
- Conducts psychiatric evaluations for referred clients to meet
clinical and/or administrative requirements.
- Evaluates referred clients to pharmacotherapy and provides
prescriptions for medication when necessary.
- Reviews and signs, if appropriate, tentative treatment plans,
treatment plans, formal treatment plan reviews and other similar
documents for assigned clients as required by regulatory rules or
third party insurers.
- Initiates Baker Act (394.467 F.S.) involuntary treatment
documents and facilitates admission to an appropriate inpatient
facility when indicated.
- Conducts psychiatric disability determination evaluation (SSI)
for referral clients and prepares required reports.
- Provides consultation to staff regarding client diagnosis and
treatment, treatment program development, referral options and
other similar topics.
- Provides staff training as mutually agreed and time
permits.
- Participates in treatment team meetings to help evaluate
scheduled clients, develop treatment plans, coordinate activities
and generally facilitate the effective delivery of services.
- Performs and documents AIMS evaluations on clients at a minimum
of every six months.
- Reviews medical history and physical exam and diagnostic
testing reports and refers clients for follow-up medical care when
indicated.
- Consults with other physicians as needed to facilitate
effective client care.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by
supervisor.Assistant Residency Medical Director
- Responsibility, authority, and accountability for:
administration and operations; teaching and scholarly activity;
resident recruitment and selection; evaluation, and promotion of
residents, and disciplinary action; supervision of residents; and
resident education in the context of patient care.
- Supports the planning and implementation of the program goals
to fulfill the mission of the program or institute.
- Implements appropriate procedures to ensure efficiency and
accuracy to fulfill program mission.
- Reviews and analyzes research data and other literature for
application to program and project initiatives.
- Participates as a member of various institutional and program
committees.
- Oversees the development and delivery of workshops, seminars
and orientations for residents/fellows, faculty and external
constituencies.
- Provides training or professional development in the subject
matter.Work Environment/Physical Demands: -The duties as described
will require frequent standing and walking. - Must utilize
conversational speech for effective verbal communication.Position
