Charged with creating and concepting a new vision for Deli, our Innovation team is in search of an experienced innovation strategist to join our Innovation team as Senior Manager, Innovation Strategist. In this highly visible role, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record of thought leadership and innovation in the retail grocery and/or CPG industry. This position contributes to the Boar's Head Brand's Innovation efforts through the design, iterative development and testing of new retail concepts and programs.Job Description:Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assesses macro trends, industry data, consumer insights and business objectives to identify new retail innovation opportunities.
Frames, assesses and prioritizes opportunities for inclusion in innovation pipeline.Leverage expertise and fluency with a variety of innovation methods (e.g. design thinking, lean start-up, ideation, prototyping, etc.) to turn innovation opportunities into clearly articulated concepts.Designs learning agenda to guide and optimize concepts throughout the rapid experimentation and iteration process.Develops preliminary business case for all new concepts, working toward increased fidelity as concept moves through iterations.Partners with internal innovation "test and learn" team to field test new innovations with retailers.Champions innovations throughout the company and with external retailers through a variety of impactful communication techniques (e.g. in-person presentations, effective storytelling, written presentations, etc.).Designs and facilitates collaborative innovation workshops for internal stakeholders as well as external retail partners.Partners with Innovation team and Executive team to set, shape, achieve and refresh Boar's Head innovation strategy and objectives.Maintains a keen awareness and understanding of what's happening in the retail world at large, inclusive of grocery, foodservice and CPG industries.
Develops and maintains strong understanding of the operational and human capital (deli associates) aspects of retail deli operations. Required Experience and Skills5+ years of innovation experience in a CPG, retail, foodservice or related industry.Creative and strategic problem solving skills.Intellectual horse power, thought leadership and curiosityExperience with formal project management methodologies, but also able to create the appropriate project management tools for the teamFlexible and creative thinker with the ability to problem solve, define business tradeoffs, generate out-of-the-box solutions, manage uncertaintyExcellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skillsAble to influence and drive change within large, complex organizationsHighly collaborative approachAble to toggle fluidly between strategic/conceptual ideation phase and tactical/executional prototyping and testing phaseUp to 30% travel required.Location:Sarasota, FLTime Type:Full timeDepartment:Marketing Innovations
