Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center (PSBHC) is an intensive
inpatient psychiatric program for males and females, ages 5 - 17
years old. We offer a highly structured supportive and safe
environment for children and adolescents who are experiencing
behavioral, emotional, family, and social challenges.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE/ WORK ENVIRONMENT
The RN has a significant role in direct patient care and is a
principle element in assuring adherence to prescribed treatment,
patient well-being, and providing a safe and therapeutic
environment. The Registered Nurse must be able to demonstrate the
knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on physical,
psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria,
appropriate to the age of the patients served.
Knowledge of appropriate nursing assessment, diagnoses, and
interventions with patients.
Knowledge of milieu management.
Ability to accurately administer medication and monitor
Ability to develop therapeutic relationships with patients and
Skill in preparing and maintaining appropriate medical record
Education: Associate Degree In Nursing
Licensure: Licensure in Florida as a Registered Professional Nurse
in accordance with Florida Statute 464.
Experience: 6 months Psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
Additional Requirements: Must be able to pass a Level 2 Background
Screening and Pre-employment Drug Test.
Successful completion of CPR Certification and successful
completion of Handle With Care prior to assisting with a
