Responsibilities
For ALL Pharmacists: Provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care
primarily through providing service excellence, clinical services,
distributive functions, education, and a commitment to the
department's mission. He/she shall possess characteristics to
successfully fulfill their responsibilities, including effective
communication, flexibility, attention to detail, initiative,
cooperation, and a high level of knowledge and skills applicable to
their area of practice. He/she will regularly profile orders for
medications, monitor patient's drug therapies, provide drug
information, and initiate/modify drug therapy based on medical
staff approved policies and protocols. -A Clinical Pharmacist II
provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care primarily through a
decentralized model providing service excellence, clinical
services, distributive functions, education, and a commitment to
the department's mission. He/she shall demonstrate leadership
qualities, serve as a role model, and actively participate in
development and revision of policies and procedures, evidence based
protocols/ordersets, and quality/performance improvement projects.
Clinical Pharmacists II shall possess characteristics to
successfully fulfill their responsibilities, including effective
communication, flexibility, attention to detail, initiative,
cooperation, and a high level of knowledge and skills applicable to
their area of practice. Emphasis in practice area may include
Cardiology, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, Infectious
Disease/Antimicrobial Stewardship, Medication Safety,
Neonatology/Pediatrics, and/or Surgery. He/she will regularly
participate in interdisciplinary rounds/meetings, profile orders
for medications, monitor patient's drug therapies, provide drug
information, and initiate/modify drug therapy based on medical
staff approved policies and protocols including nutrition support
and pharmacokinetics. A Clinical Pharmacist II supervises and
directs supportive staff, precepts pharmacy students, residents,
and pharmacy trainees. He/she will provide information regarding
medication therapy in both formal and informal settings to
healthcare providers, residents, staff, patients, and families. In
the absence of the Director of Pharmacy, a Clinical Staff
Pharmacist may be required to assume the essential responsibilities
and perform the duties of the Director of Pharmacy. -About Manatee

Qualifications
-CP2: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited institution or
Bachelors - degree in Pharmacy (BS Pharm) from an accredited
institution with relevant experience in the area of practiceCP2:
Board Certification (BPS) active or certification that meets ASHP
preceptor qualifications relevant to intended area of focus, or
obtain within 12 monthsCP2: PGY1 Residency/fellowship or Three (3)
years of relevant acute care experienceCP2: Board certification
(BPS) in Critical Care, ID or Cardiology, preferredCP2: PGY2
Residency/fellowship in the field of specialty is desired and will

- -All: Knowledge of hospital based information system, reporting
features, and Microsoft OfficeAll: Current Pharmacist License in
the State of FloridaAll: Strong proficiency in computer literacy
including but not limited to MS Office, Pharmacy clinical systems
