Job Description Pride Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to support our client’s medical facility, located in St. Petersburg, FL 33707. This is a 3 month contract assignment (convertible to permanent based on your work performance). and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization! Specific Duties: Performs all duties within the scope of a Medical Assistant’s practice. Operates diagnostic equipment (cannot interpret tests), removes staples from superficial wounds, changes wound dressing and obtains cultures, administers non-intravenous medication, performs simple specimen collection via noninvasive techniques and collects blood specimens via venipuncture or via capillary, performs EKGs. Performs quality control checks on equipment. Prepares and sterilises medical equipment using the autoclave. Rooms patients according to policy and procedures, prepares patient for examination Records patient care documentation in the medical record accurately and in a timely manner. Coordinates patient care as directed by physicians, company standards and policies. Respects patient confidentiality at all times and treats patients with courtesy and respect. Organises exam and treatment rooms, stocks and cleans rooms and sterilizes instruments. Practices standard infection control precautions Telephone and in-person screening limited to intake and gathering of information without requiring the exercise of judgment based on clinical knowledge Supports and follows Standard Delegation of Orders (SDO) 10. Performs all other related duties as assigned Qualifications: 2 years of preferred experience Current, nationally recognised Medical Assistant certification High school diploma or equivalent BLS Certification Must have qualifications/experience: High school graduate or GED equivalent Current, nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification § Current BLS certification (through an approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network) at time of hire or within 30 days of hire Basic computer literacy required, with intermediate Excel skills Knowledge of medical terminology required Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations required Good communication and customer service skills required Additional Information: Location: 6350 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg, FL 33707 Job Type: 3 months contract to Hire Schedule: - Monday through Friday Shift start & end times: 8 am-5 pm Workdays per week: 5 days Pay Range: $20-23/hrs. on W2 without benefits *Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
