Job Description:

Encompass Health is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic team of healthcare professionals. The successful candidate will assist in providing exceptional, cost-effective care, supporting patients in achieving their recovery and rehabilitation goals. Working under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, the COTA will implement intervention plans, helping patients develop or regain physical or mental functioning, promoting maximum independence and quality of life. Implement therapeutic plans and programs under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist Assist patients in performing activities of all types, ranging from using daily living equipment to employing technology aids Monitor and document patient progress and response to treatment Contribute to a multidisciplinary team as a key player in patient care planning Maintain patient confidence by keeping information confidential and secure Educate and involve patients' families or caregivers in the treatment process when appropriate Ensure adherence to safety and health regulations during therapy sessions Proven ability to follow treatment plans as prescribed and provide feedback as needed Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on compassionate patient interaction Ability to handle physical workload and assist patients with physical tasks Strong observational skills and a detail-oriented approach to therapy Basic knowledge of healthcare software and record-keeping Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) Valid licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state of employment
