Great careers continually advance here.**POSITION SUMMARY** **:**The physical therapist (PT) is responsible to provide quality clinical care as part of a multidisciplinary team at the hospital and/or outpatient care centers as assigned. Demonstrates competency in evaluation and treatment, utilizing value based care and evidence based practices. Receives clinical review by the PT Clinical Coordinators.**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:**1. Performs assessment and treatment of patients with impairment, functional limitation, and disability or other health-related conditions to obtain their maximum level of function2. Practices family-centered care by working in partnership with caregivers and patients to encourage and empower their active participation in the care plan3. Completes accurate and timely documentation of services in accordance with professional and compliance standards to best reflect the patient's status and needs, support revenue cycle and facilitate communication for continuity of care4. Demonstrates responsible actions and initiative to positively impact patient access to care and contribute to the department?s financial performance5. Provides education and mentoring for: students, interns, residents, observers, volunteers and/or staff to support their development6. Develops and/or implements clinical activities which improve or expand physical therapy services, within the department and/or hospital system, to benefit patient care7. Provides supervision of physical therapist assistant(s) for provision and delivery of service that is safe, effective, and efficient in accordance to department, state, and APTA standards**QUALIFICATIONS:**+ Bachelors, Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited school of Physical Therapy+ Licensed to practice physical therapy in the state of Florida**PHYSICAL DEMANDS:**+ __X__ Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of Fifty (50) pounds without assistance+ __X__ Category 1: Job classification is exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties+ Ability to perform physical activity, including but not limited to: repetitive motions, feeling, grasping, fingering (pinching, typing, handling, etc.) lifting, pulling, pushing, kneeling, walking, standing, reaching, crouching, stooping, moving up and down from the floor, running and jumping+ Visual acuity and fine motor dexterity to use evaluation equipment and computer equipment**WORK ENVIRONMENT:**+ Work within the center environment includes exposure to environmental temperature changes, with possible exposure to steam and dampness+ Potential exposure to airborne pathogens and tuberculosis; must meet OSHA requirement for mask (respiratory protection units) fit testing which requires the absence of full beards and possible other facial hair in order to meet OSHA compliance; compliance with universal and other precautionsJohns Hopkins Health System and its affiliates are drug-free workplace employers.Johns Hopkins Health System and its affiliates are an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employers.
