Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent data entry, organization and customer service skills.
Minimum of at least two years' recent experience in Medical Billing
and Accounts Receivable preferred.
Preferred Qualification: Minimum of at least two years' recent
experience in Medical Billing and Accounts Receivable preferred.
Direct experience with Medicare & Medicaid. Medical office
Special Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Direct experience with
Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payor billing and
Essential Functions/Job Duties:
Knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-9, Revenue Codes, and Authorizations.
Knowledge in A/R collection practices, denials, and appeals.
Maintains professional demeanor/excellent customer service skills
and telephone etiquette. Computer literate/basic knowledge of
Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to research account activity and
recommend accounts for write-offs. Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid,
and third party insurance processing and EOB's. Problem solving
Work Environment/Physical Demands: This job operates in a
professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard
office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing
cabinets and fax machines. This is largely a sedentary role;
however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to
lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as
Position Type, Expected Hours of Work and Travel: This is a
full-time position, and the expected work hours are 40 hours per
week, Monday - Friday - 8:30-5:00. Some early morning, evening and
weekend hours when needed.
