We are seeking a high energy, motivated professional Field Trainer to support the Edwards and Kidde products training. This is a role where you will have the ability to use various tools to deliver a blended learning experience for our internal technical/sales team and our external partners. As a Field Trainer, you will help others understand and get excited about our products.


Highlights of job duties include:

  • Train our internal sales teams and external partners on new and legacy products
  • Plan and deploy a wide variety of innovative training methods, tools and techniques based on understanding of our (Edwards) products
  • Create an engaging experience for attendees where various learning styles can thrive in a product training classroom
  • Work closely with a program team to ensure effective and efficient integration of the training effort into the overall implementation plan
  • Ability to travel to various customer sites in US and Canada to conduct product training sessions.
  • Follow a standard classroom curriculum by using various adult learning tools, such as WebEx, Zoom and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Support the overall design and creation of learning & development deliverables including curriculums and course materials leveraging advanced design/development techniques and tools (WebEx/PPT) to suit learning needs of the target audience
  • Maintain equipment for field training purposes
  • Design and implement short videos for training purposes
  • Ability using visual communication skills to bring together text, images, video and audio to create blended learning user experience
  • Manage a safe and collaborative classroom setting for the best learning experience for both virtual and in person environments
  • Demonstrate and lead a safe and collaborative learning environment
  • Demonstrate fire systems and fire product equipment
  • Constantly learn about new products and processes in our company and within the industry
  • Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practices to incorporate in learning and development programs
  • Collaborate and share knowledge with other trainers.
  • Collaborate with other trainers to produce programs that are satisfactory to all meaningful parties in the organization

    • Associate's degree with technical training experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Electrical Engineering, Education (Adult level) or equivalent is preferred
    • NICET certification is a plus

      • 2+ years of blended training (i.e. online, WebEx, and classroom instruction) of adult learning experience
      • Two (2) years' previous experience as a trainer, corporate training specialist, or related position
      • Excellent communication and presentation skills
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong presentation, planning, problem solving, organizational, project management and decision-making skills
      • Highly self-motivated and agile learner of technical products
      • Confident and not afraid to ask questions and seek answers
      • Adaptable with the ability to think quickly due to the situation
      • Customer service focused
      • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite (with high proficiency in PowerPoint)
      • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), and instructional software
      • Ability to travel significantly for onsite training to our sales teams and channel partners
      • Experience in classroom management, including having difficult conversations with attendees when necessary
      • Understanding of how products go to market
      • Strong project management skills with ability to supervise multiple projects
      • Understanding of small to mid-market Fire systems preferred
      • Experience with product quality, Six Sigma, and/or Value Stream Mapping is a plus
