The Telemetry/Medical/Surgical Department at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center provides acute inpatient hospital services for patients. Telemetry/medical/surgical beds have the capability of monitoring patients with cardiac issues. We also care for surgical patients that need post-operative care as well as medical patients with a wide range of conditions, including: * Cardiac * Acute respiratory * Gastrointestinal * Genitourinary * Musculoskeletal * Neurological disorder Patients and families are part of our care team and are encouraged to participate in developing the plan of care as well as patient rounding and bedside shift report. We believe that clear, open communication delivers the best outcomes for our patients.Assists the unit with providing safe, competent basic nursing care for patients in accordance with approved competencies, facility policies/practices, standards, philosophy under the direction of an RN. The Student/Nurse (SNAP) provides support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times and other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Completed the first semester at an accredited Nursing school (ASN or BSN program) Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment Current American Heart Association BLS required at time of hire. Prior CNA experience preferred. Concurrent enrollment in a RN Nursing program Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills Recommendation from a School of Nursing Instructor Proven work history of excellent customer service skills required
