Location: 2651 Gulf of Mexico Dr. South/Marine Rescue
Hours: Summer 9 am - 7 pm; Winter 9 am - 5 pm; the schedule will
include weekend and holidays
Starting pay depends on qualifications
Beach Lifeguard I - $17.80 - $24.75
Beach Lifeguard II - $19.50 - $27.30
This classification is responsible for the protection of life and
enforcing all beach safety rules and ordinance violations on County
beaches. The position is responsible for providing water rescue and
the basic administration of emergency medical care. Responds to
water and land-borne emergencies and effect rescues of beachgoers,
boaters, and patrons in the surf environment as well as on shore.
Serves in a life-saving as well as a community-oriented
capacity.
NOTE: FRS Retirement Class: Special Risk for EMT License, with
$1.00 per hr. incentive for EMT license, with $1.00 per hr.
incentive for Rescue Diver certification.
Job Description
Beach lifeguards protect life on county beaches and serve in a
life-saving capacity. They are responsible for enforcing safety
rules and responding to water and land borne emergencies. Rescuing
beach goers, boaters and patrons in a surf environment, as well as
on shore are just another day at the beach for them. Are you up for
