Responsibilities
Suncoast Behavioral Health Center opened its doors in 2014 and
provides the highest quality of behavioral healthcare for patients
in a safe, secure and nurturing environment. Suncoast Behavioral
Health Center is a 60-bed free-standing psychiatric hospital. We
offer diverse inpatient and residential programs for children and
adolescents. In a highly specialized field of psychiatry, our goal
is to promote cognitive, social, physical and emotional development
to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills to help our
patients succeed. The Residential Treatment Programs Admissions
Coordinator is responsible for completing RTP and Acute Admission
Assessments as well as completing timely data entry for all
incoming and follow up calls. They are also responsible for
reviewing referrals for clinical appropriateness as well as
facilitating the prior authorization process with the insurance
companies. Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Reviews all referral packets to identify prospective patients
for RTP and Acute patients.
- Staffs referrals with clinical team to determine admission
decision.
- Returns phone calls in a timely manner to all referral sources
and prospective patients and families.
- Ensures effective communication with customers and their
companions that are deaf or hard-of-hearing.
- Schedules admissions and notifying parents/guardians of items
needed for admission.
- Completes Admissions packets for RTP and Acute patients and
organizing files in the Admissions drive.
- Completes pre-certifications, gathering clinical documentation
and continued stay reviews of RTP on patients.
- Completes Admissions Assessments and required documentation in
a timely manner.
- Assists in maintaining the Admissions Waiting List and in
scheduling of RTP admissions.
- Maintains positive relationships with referral sources and
responds to their requests in a timely manner.
- Attends RTP treatment team.
- Exercises discretion and independent judgment while working
with payor sources.
- Conducts orientation to the facility for family and new
patients.
- Timely Data Entry in MS4 system for incoming and discharging
RTP and Acute patients.Benefits Include:

Qualifications
Requirements:
- Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in
social work, mental health counseling preferred. Bachelor's or
Associates Degree in Nursing required.
- Valid FL license, e.g., RN, LSCW, LMHC or LMFT preferred.
- Experience: Completing biopsychosocial assessments and/or
experience with Utilization Review.
- Good oral and written communication skills required to
communicate in a clear and concise manner with patients,
physicians, staff and administration. Stable emotional makeup
required to work in a fast paced environment with frequent
interruptions.
- Must be able to participate in the physical restraint and
seclusion of patients. Must be able to participate in and complete
