Come join a team that brings a people-first approach to doing business! - Direction of Inbound Transportation IMPACT ON OUR BUSINESS: The Director of Inbound Transportation will have direct accountability and responsibility for domestic inbound transportation operations in a multiple Distribution Center environment. The Director of Inbound Transportation is a key member of the Beall's Logistics Leadership Team and will be responsible for the successful development and implementation of department strategies and activities as they relate to the domestic inbound transportation program.The Director is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and maintaining assigned business functions and initiatives.The Director will ensure that all transportation groups are working together collaboratively and cohesively maintaining communication on all operational functions including but not limited to; inbound, detention, and yard control. The Director will have interaction and partnership with: Distribution Center Operations, Human Resources, Loss Prevention, and 3rd Party Partners. The position will focus on continuous improvement of the inbound transportation program by, but not limited to, identifying efficiency opportunities, KPI reporting and explanations, direct freight analysis and invoice controls, and overall communication process within the department. Internal interaction required with:

• Bealls Transportation and Distribution Divisional VP's, Directors, and Managers.
• Bealls Loss Prevention Management, DC Management and Transportation Teams.
• Merchants and Buyers and other departments.
• External interaction required with: 3rd Party Relationships, including Transportation Carriers and Consolidators. EXPECTATIONS FOR SUCCESS:
  • Evolve multi-carrier strategy and solutions to meet business demand and optimize cost.
  • Manage end to end inbound transportation network for all modes of transportation in a multiple Distribution Center environment.
  • Develop, manage, and execute scorecards to ensure performance goals are met.
  • Maintain excellent customer service relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Develop and formulate strategies to review with Divisional VP of Transportation.
  • Provide all levels of the company with weekly updates on Transportation performance metrics.
  • Establish goals and objectives for direct reports consistent with business needs and policies toeffectively utilize resources.
  • Builds relationships with carriers, vendors, internal team members; resolves freight related issues.
  • Proficient in the use of Transportation Management System (TMS). SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Direct line overseeing all domestic inbound transportation operations including DC interaction.
    • Inbound freight P & L responsibility and accountability. KEY ATTRIBUTES:
      • A minimum of seven years' experience in retail logistics is preferred.
      • Knowledge and understanding of WMS, TMS, & YMS platforms is required.
      • Experience and understanding of Transportation Management Software (TMS).
      • Intermediate MS Excel, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint experience preferred.
      • 4 Year College Degree preferred.
      • Experience in retail logistics operations, supply chain, transportation and/or distribution.
      • Experience identifying trends, tracking KPI's, creating and reporting on freight metrics. OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
        • Effective collaboration skills and creative problem solving.
        • Ability to constructively interact with internal and external customers to understand service needs as related to transportation and equipment flow.
        • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of the Logistics Management Team.
        • Possesses significant knowledge of logistics industry and has significant service industry relationships. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
          • Must have adequate vision, speech, hearing, and physical ability to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodations.
          • Must have full body rotation and mobility (i.e., bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, etc).
          • This is largely a sedentary role; however, some movement is required.
          • Usual office environment with frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing.
          • Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office machinery.
          • Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone.
